Rosie: Eighth Grader and World Traveler
Rosie is an eighth grader learning independence and responsibility. She works diligently in her studies and enjoys playing softball. She likes to read, write, sing, play the piano and be with her friends. Rosie likes reading about history and being on stage in the middle school musicals. She also loves looking at maps and writing.
Rosie has been on many trips throughout her life and has become a compassionate traveler on her numerous service learning trips. She journeyed for a weeklong cultural experience with the sixth grade to Greece. She and her classmates worked while in Greece to plant trees to protect the environment from soil erosion and mud slides. She also traveled to Uganda to work at the Masooli School as a tutor and helper during construction of new classrooms and a health clinic. As a seventh grader, she worked with Nepalese orphans outside of Kathmandu to help build a more sustainable plan for all the orphans to succeed. These experiences continue her well rounded education, as she strives to contribute positively to our rapidly changing world. Rosie's love of traveling and helping others inspires our family as we search for a new school in a new country to continue this passion.
Rosie can read and write Arabic which she has studied for four years at school. She looks forward to new adventures and challenges in the next school year. Her experiences living in Saudi Arabia, USA, Norway and the United Arab Emirates make her excited to continue her education and helping others in new places!
